Terms of Service

    Last updated: March 23, 2026

    1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Inner Shore application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services") provided by Inner Shore Pte. Ltd. ("Inner Shore", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.

If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and references to "you" include that organisation.

    2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services.

When you create an account, we may ask you to provide your date of birth so that we can apply age-appropriate eligibility and consent rules.

If you are under 18 years old, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms where required by applicable law.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if we reasonably believe that you do not meet the applicable age or consent requirements.

    3. Nature of the Services

Inner Shore is an AI-enabled wellness and reflection service designed to support mindfulness, emotional self-awareness, journaling, guided practices, and personal reflection.

    The Services may include:

    • AI-assisted conversations • Journaling and personal reflection tools • Guided meditations and breathing exercises • AI-generated meditation scripts • Text-to-speech audio generation for meditation guidance • Personalised prompts and practice recommendations • Optional voice-based interaction features

The Services are intended for general wellness and self-reflection only.

Important: The Services are not a medical device, mental health treatment, psychotherapy, counselling service, crisis response service, or substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, or psychological care. The Services do not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease or mental health condition.

No therapist-client, doctor-patient, or other professional relationship is created through your use of the Services.

    4. Safety and Crisis Disclaimer

You must not use the Services as an emergency communication channel or as a substitute for emergency services, crisis hotlines, or licensed healthcare professionals.

If you are in immediate danger, experiencing a mental health crisis, or having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, seek help immediately from local emergency services or an appropriate crisis support provider.

For users in Singapore, Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) may be reached at 1767, and SOS also publishes a WhatsApp CareText line at 9151 1767.

We may provide supportive prompts, safety notices, or crisis resources, but these features are not infallible and must not be relied upon as a substitute for professional assessment or intervention.

We may interrupt, restrict, review, delay, or decline certain interactions where reasonably necessary for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or protection of the Services.

    5. Account Registration and Security

To use certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address and password or a supported third-party authentication method.

    You are responsible for:

    • Maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials • All activities that occur under your account • Ensuring that information you provide is accurate and up to date • Notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorised access or security incident affecting your account

We may require reasonable verification steps before acting on account-related requests.

    6. Subscriptions, Billing, and Payment

The Services may include a free tier and one or more paid subscription plans.

If you purchase a paid subscription:

    • You authorise recurring billing according to the billing plan presented at checkout • Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the next renewal date • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing cycle unless otherwise stated • Fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or expressly stated by us • Any trial or promotional pricing may convert to standard paid billing unless cancelled before the end of the trial or promotional period

If you purchase through Apple, Google, or another app marketplace, billing, cancellation, and refund processes may also be governed by that platform's terms and policies.

We may change subscription pricing from time to time. If we make a material pricing change affecting your ongoing subscription, we will provide reasonable prior notice, and the new pricing will apply no earlier than your next billing cycle after that notice.

Payment processing is handled by third-party processors such as Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers in our own systems. Stripe states that it is certified as a PCI Level 1 service provider, and that PCI compliance remains a shared responsibility between Stripe and businesses using Stripe.

    7. User Content

"User Content" means content you submit, upload, write, speak, generate, or otherwise provide through the Services, including journal entries, chat messages, feedback, profile content, and voice inputs.

As between you and Inner Shore, you retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable licence to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display your User Content solely as reasonably necessary to:

    • Provide and operate the Services • Personalise your experience • Maintain conversation continuity • Support safety, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention • Troubleshoot, secure, and maintain the Services • Comply with legal obligations • Improve the Services using aggregated, de-identified, or otherwise lawfully usable information

We do not use your private journals or private conversations to train general-purpose AI models unless we clearly disclose that practice and obtain any consent required by applicable law.

    8. AI Features

The Services use artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, including third-party model providers, to generate responses, meditation scripts, summaries, prompts, recommendations, and other outputs.

    You acknowledge and agree that:

    • AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, inconsistent, biased, or inappropriate • AI outputs are not professional advice of any kind, including medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice • AI-generated reflections or insights are not diagnoses or clinical assessments • You are responsible for evaluating whether and how to rely on AI-generated content

We may change, suspend, filter, or disable AI models, AI providers, or AI-enabled features at any time.

    9. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to:

    • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law • Submit or generate content that is harmful, abusive, threatening, exploitative, defamatory, fraudulent, or invasive of privacy • Use the Services to promote self-harm, violence, abuse, or harm to minors • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation • Reverse engineer, scrape, benchmark, exploit, or probe the Services or underlying systems except as expressly permitted by law • Interfere with the integrity, performance, or security of the Services • Circumvent safety mechanisms, access controls, or usage limits • Share your account credentials or allow unauthorised use of your account

We may investigate suspected misuse and take appropriate action, including warnings, removal of content, suspension, or termination.

    10. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content, the Services and all related intellectual property rights, including software, designs, interfaces, audiovisual elements, branding, logos, and documentation, are owned by or licensed to Inner Shore.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.

    11. Privacy

Our collection, use, disclosure, storage, and transfer of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

    12. Service Availability and Changes

We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Services from time to time.

We do not guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of material changes that adversely affect paid users, except where immediate action is required for security, safety, legal, or operational reasons.

    13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and may delete your account through available account settings.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Services if:

    • You breach these Terms • We reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, unlawful conduct, or security risk • We are required to do so by law, court order, regulator, or third-party platform rule • Continued operation of your account creates risk to you, other users, or the Services

Following termination, some provisions of these Terms will continue to apply, including those relating to billing, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, privacy, and dispute resolution.

    14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

    We do not warrant that:

    • The Services will meet your expectations or requirements • The Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free • Any content or AI output will be accurate, reliable, or suitable for your circumstances • Any defects or errors will be corrected

    15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Inner Shore and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, use, or opportunity, arising out of or related to the Services; and

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Services will not exceed the greater of:

    • The total amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or • SGD 100, if you have not paid us any fees during that period.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any non-excludable statutory rights.

    16. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inner Shore and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and contractors from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to:

    • Your misuse of the Services • Your breach of these Terms • Your violation of applicable law • Your infringement of any third-party rights

    17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

Before commencing formal proceedings, the parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally.

If a dispute is not resolved informally, either party may refer it to mediation in Singapore.

If mediation does not resolve the dispute, the dispute shall be finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore in accordance with the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre in force at the time arbitration is commenced.

Nothing in this clause limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

    18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, operations, legal requirements, or risk controls.

If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated Terms in the Services, by email, or by other reasonable means.

Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
